SUMMARY:Geopark Communities Event
DESCRIPTION:The communities of the geopark are all gathering together at the Valkenburg in Ballinrobe on Saturday 12 November from 10am to 1pm. The event will include a short update on the geopark’s team activities on the road to become a UNESCO Global Geopark and a keynote presentation by Dr Órla Níc Suibhne of SEAI on sustainable energy. This will be followed by a “speed-dating” network event for the communities to share ideas and contact details. Throughout the event, there will be side tables with information from the Local Enterprise Offices (LEO), LEADER companies (Forum Connemara and South West Mayo Development Company), Galway and Mayo County Councils, Údarás na Gaeltachta and the Education Training Boards for the region (GRETB and MSLETB).\nEach of the 20 towns and villages of the geopark region will be represented by 2 people at the event.\n \n\n
