Les g\u00e9oparcs sont des endroits dont la g\u00e9ologie est d'importance internationale, g\u00e9r\u00e9s selon un concept holistique de protection, d'\u00e9ducation et de d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique. Le projet de 1,19 million d'euros, men\u00e9 par Geological Survey Ireland (agence national de G\u00e9ologie), a permis d'employer 3 personnes \u00e0 plein temps. Michael Hegarty (G\u00e9rant du Geoparc), Dr Benjamin Th\u00e9baudeau (G\u00e9ologue du Geoparc) et Dominic O'M\u00f3r\u00e1in (Agent de d\u00e9veloppement du Tourisme, financ\u00e9 par \u00dadar\u00e1s na Gealtachta) sont toujours bas\u00e9s \u00e0 Tourmakeady dans le Comt\u00e9 de Mayo. and <a href=\"https:\/\/mournegullionstrangfordgeopark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mourne Gullion Strangford<\/a> in County Down and County Armagh. The plan describes the geopark and its governance, its budget and staff, its vision, the various partners and stakeholders, a SWOT analysis and a list of actions planned for its future. This great tool clarifies the operations of the geopark and the strategy for its development. It is aligned with the UN SDGs in particular Goal 17 which deals with strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing the global partnership for sustainable development. The plan was officially launched in February 2023. Tout est bas\u00e9 sur la fantastique histoire g\u00e9ologique de la r\u00e9gion d\u2019importance internationale et la fa\u00e7on dont elle a fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 notre paysage, la fa\u00e7on dont les gens vivent et le riche patrimoine que nous pouvons maintenant promouvoir et appr\u00e9cier plus que jamais. Pour aider \u00e0 guider cette dynamique touristique, une nouvelle strat\u00e9gie de d\u00e9veloppement du tourisme a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9labor\u00e9e pour la r\u00e9gion par le projet avec la contribution experte d'un facilitateur exp\u00e9riment\u00e9. Un bref document, il d\u00e9crit la vision, comprend un SWOT (analyse des forces, faiblesses, opportunit\u00e9s et dangers) et un regard sur la vie avec et au-del\u00e0 de la COVID-19. Une section tr\u00e8s importante est la Charte du G\u00e9oparc - un ensemble de principes qui guide nos partenariats avec les entreprises, les communaut\u00e9s, etc., qui sont tous invit\u00e9s \u00e0 souscrire et \u00e0 respecter ces principes dans le d\u00e9veloppement du G\u00e9oparc. Initially a two-year project (2020-2021), its key aim is to put in place the resources and structures to achieve UNESCO Global Geopark status. Geoparks are places of internationally significant geology, managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and economic development. The \u20ac1.19 million project, led by Geological Survey Ireland, recently employed 3 full-time staff. Michael Hegarty (Geopark Manager), Dr Benjamin Th\u00e9baudeau (Geopark Geologist) and Dominic O&#8217;M\u00f3r\u00e1in (Tourism Officer, funded by \u00dadar\u00e1s na Gealtachta) are based in Tourmakeady County Mayo.
