Place Names and Geology<\/br> booklet"},"content":{"rendered":"

We are proud to be launching our first publication on Wednesday, 14 April 6pm – 7pm<\/strong> with a free online event. The publication was developed by JCWL GeoEnterprise and funded by Geological Survey Ireland.<\/p>\n

Entitled \u201cPlace Names and Geology in the Joyce Country and Western Lakes region\u201d, this bilingual English\/Irish booklet follows and adds to the expert works of the late Fiachra McGowan and the late Tim Robinson by focussing on the geological and geomorphological features recorded in place names in Ireland with more specific examples from the region.<\/p>\n

The launch, which can be accessed through zoom with the link below, will feature a short discussion on the production of the booklet and around place names in Ireland and abroad. The digital copy of the booklet will then be available on our Irish Language page<\/a> and on our Learning page<\/a>.<\/p>\n
