Initially a two-year project (2020-2021), its key aim is to put in place the resources and structures to achieve UNESCO Global Geopark status. Geoparks are places of internationally significant geology, managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and economic development. The \u20ac1.19 million project, led by Geological Survey Ireland, recently employed 3 full-time staff.
