SUMMARY:Lake Environmental DNA sampling of Lough Carra Biodiversity Week event
DESCRIPTION:Lough Carra is one of only 5 lakes in Ireland selected for this global study of Lake Environmental DNA organised by the ETH Zurich (Federal Institute of Technology). This global study aims to take a snapshot of the world’s biodiversity as recorded in lakes and explore how these environments act as reservoirs for these types of records. Sampling of the lake surface waters will be done in partnership with the Lough Carra Life project and the Lough Carra Catchment Association on World Biodiversity Day on Wednesday 22 May 2024. The results will then be published by the end of the year.\n \n
