GLEN INAGH

The Inagh Valley is one of the most picturesque glacial valleys of the region in between the ancient quartzite peaks of the 12 Bens and the Maumturks

The Maumturks mountain range, offer panoramic views of Connemara, right down to the coast. The peaks are made from quartzite – the same as the  Twelve Bens (or Twelve Pins or Beanna Beola) standing at the west – and the tallest, Mulnahogue, stands at 702m. The glaciers of the Quaternary Period shaped the peaks and valleys into what we see today. The Western Way long-distance walking trail passes close to the Maumturk Mountains.
