‘Reading Your Local Landscape: Basics’ – free training course
Galway County Council Heritage Office and The Heritage Council are providing a free heritage training course entitled ‘Reading Your Local Landscape: Basics’ County Galway for Heritage Groups and Heritage Practitioners working in the county of Galway (Galway County Council’s administrative area only). The course will be delivered online. There are limited places available on the course and booking is essential.
We would ask that you would only register for the course if you can commit to attending all of the sessions.
This course is funded by Galway County Council and the Heritage Council and is an action of Galway County Heritage & Biodiversity Plan 2017 – 2022.

- The basics of Architectural Design
- • Building materials study. From stone to glass, find out how the available construction materials influenced design. • What’s old and what’s new? Identifying the age of buildings from their features. • The influence of the ‘big house’. How did the Classical style filter down to everyday use in our cities and towns.
