Stars and Strategies – Sustainable tourism event

Join us for a free informative event on the opportunities offered by our dark skies for sustainable tourism. The Interreg funded GLOW 2.0 project is organising this Irish astronomy week event in partnership with Joyce Country and Western Lakes Geopark and Connemara Dark Skies. The event will consist of a workshop for businesses on marketing and sustainable opportunities around dark sky tourism given by Ged Dowling of Terra Firma, a tour company based in County Mayo offering stargazing tours. Following this, we will venture outside (weather permitting) on the new Leenane amenity park to explore our dark skies.

The event takes place on Friday the 15th of March in Leenane Community Hall (Eircode : H91 X2P7) and we recommend that you park in Leenane village and walk up. It will start at 7pm and tea and coffee will be provided.
