JCWL GeoEnterprise supports establishment of a UNESCO Global Geopark in south Co Mayo and north Connemara. This event is a tour and talk about our built and other vernacular heritage in three communities in south County Mayo, namely The Neale, Ballinrobe and Partry which have unique vernacular buildings and other tangible heritage from our past.

We will film the talks as they take place at points of interest on the tour, guided by local people with expertise on the architecturally significant constructs in their villages. There’s plenty of scope for Q&A and local engagement. The resultant short video will be available for sharing widely.

Tour plan
• The half-day tour will be on Saturday 13th August.
• A bus will start at 9am sharp from Partry Community Hall, returning to Partry to finish at 1pm.
• Light refreshments provided along the way. Option of lunch at end at Lough Inn Partry (pay individually).
