Geopark Ambassador Course

We are pleased to offer again our free geopark ambassador course. The course aims to give you the ability to describe what the geopark project is, why our region’s geology is so important and the main sites of interests to explore our geology.

Due to the situation, it will consist of two 90 mins session and only be offered online through Zoom in small groups of 10 to maximum 15 at a time to allow for some interactions and a possibility of Q&A.

Objectives:
Learn about the geopark project and how to orient yourselves and your visitors in the geopark region using the geological map. Learn about the sites of interests and what to see there.

Outcome:
The attendants to this course will gain a basic understanding as to the significance of the geological heritage of the region and be able to convey it to their visitors. They will also gain tools to utilise the geopark as a marketing tool.

Logistics:
2 sessions of 1.5 hours on Zoom with groups of limited numbers (10-15 max). When restrictions allow, there will be a ½ day field trip component to the course. Further logistical details TBC.

Registration:
First come first served basis on email response to this invitation and at no cost.

Material:
Registered attendants need a device with decent internet connection, preferably a PC. The entirety of the course will be delivered through Zoom via a PowerPoint presentation, with room for Q&A throughout. Some interactive activities will also be offered (e.g. map to colour, image quiz). Some pdf documents will be made available to download and print but printing them is not a requirement.

Certificate:
A certificate of participation/completion will be delivered upon attendance of both 1.5 hour Zoom sessions and the fieldtrip.
